Zoom Discussion
If you would like to use synchronous video conference to get the classroom teaching experience, Zoom is the tool to go.
If you experience slow down in video conference, you can ask class
participants to turn off their video and just appear via Audio. This
will save a lot of broadband width. I suggest you pair up with one of
conference attendees today, or anyone who has
used Zoom today to try it out before you use. There are many videos on
Youtube that shows how a Zoom meeting can be set up. Here are a few. You
can explore others.

How to Pre-assign students into breakout room when scheduling a conference.
ReplyDeleteTo do more advanced settings, one should go to Zoom's online portal to configure the functional command in your conference.

You can preassign students into breakout rooms when you schedule a conference. To do this, in the online portal, go left to find
'settings',
then scroll down to find
'Breakout Room',
under that there is another check box function called
'Allow hosts to assign participants into breakout room when scheduling'
Check the box next to it
Then when you schedule a meeting, in your 'meeting options', you should find Breakout Room pre-assign and click Create Rooms.
So those you used zoom today to teach what was your experience with the band width. was the real-time streaming good? If you found it fine I will plan to use it, otherwise I was planning to use google hangouts. I don't intend to record it. Thankyou,
